Flash Fiction Writing Contest

Guidelines
 

There is no Entry Fee.

Entrants must be 18 years of age or older
 
This Flash Fiction may not exceed 650 words and must have a beginning, a middle and an end.  (Reminder, Flash Fiction typically focuses on one event or one time period, or a pivotal moment in a character’s life.) 

This Flash Fiction is to be based on the photograph writing prompt by local artist, Travis Garcia is on display at Brewster’s Coffee House,US 27,just south of Home Depot in Sebring, or view it on this page.

A writer may submit a maximum of two entries.
Submit as a Word document.

Type the entry in 12 point Arial or Times Roman font, double-spaced.

Each entry must be submitted separately with a cover sheet that includes author's name, title of piece, author’s e-mail address, telephone number and accurate word count.  Author’s name should not appear on the actual piece of writing.  It will given an ID number for judging.

·      Deadline for all entries is midnight , May 7 , 2012 .

Winners will be notified by e-mail or telephone and announced at the award ceremony, date TBA. Winning entry will be published on the Heartland Cultural Alliance website and in the News Sun. First place: $ 100, Second Place: $ 50, Third place: $ 25

Friends and family members of sponsors and judges are not eligible to participate.
